Here at Clockworkers, we have some rules for roleplaying. These rules are not to exclude anyone, or make anyone left out, but to make this site as fun and safe as we can.
Note: You only need to read what is in bold. The rest of the following rules are optional.
Site Rules
[Rule number one: This is a PG 13 site]
Swearing is allowed. However, derogatory terms, be they to a race of people or a body part are not acceptable, nor is explicit descriptions.
[Rule number two: Keep Clockworkers a drug-free place]
Drugs are bad. Please refrain from mentioning them in any way.
[Rule number three: Personal information is best kept personal.]
Nobody needs to know your address, social security number or phone number (cell or home). It's OK to share APPROPRIATE pictures of yourself and your email, for ease of contact, but know you do so at your own risk.*Note*
Staff will never ask for your personal information. Ever. If you encounter someone who wants your personal information, REPORT them.
Note: You only need to read what is in bold. The rest of the following rules are optional.
Roleplay Rules
[Rule number one: Nobody is perfect.]
Let's get this over with: no one, be they real or fictional, is perfect. Nobody. Not the president, not your mother or father. Everyone has their flaws.
[Rule number two: Not everything about your character is charming.]
This really is an extension of the first rule to be laid down. Everyone has one or two things that work for them, it might be their body, their eyes, whatever. Nobody, nobody at all, has a perfect body with tan skin and blue eyes fringed by blonde hair that moves perfectly when they laugh their charming laugh. Everybody has something they'd like to fix; maybe a mole on their face, a crooked tooth, so on and so forth. Please, carry this on to your characters. It's possible your cat's ears are to big, or your dog dislikes their teeth. Flaws are one of the most fun things to play with.
[Rule number three: Give other players a chance.]
Let's say there's a spy, spying on you as spies do. It would be highly unrealistic for your character to spot this spy the first post they had in the thread. Instead, wait a while. Wait until the other character makes a noise, or moves something, or whatever they choose to do. Similairly, should you ever be on the other side of this scenario, give the other person a chance by stepping on that one thing, or moving that one can. Otherwise, it's unfair to them, because they never get to attempt to catch you.
[Rule number four: Two hits doesn't kill someone.]
Battles and fights are one of the funnest things ever. Period. But they're only fun if you don't die two posts in. It takes at least twenty hits to kill your opponent. Twenty hits is twenty posts, roughly two pages. So don't instantly kill your opponent. It's no fun.
[Rule number five: Clockworkers is a free-kill site.]
That means if you kill a character in battle, the character is dead. On the other hand, someone can back out of battle with a post in [brackets]. ([backing out] and [surrender] are two good ones.) If the character is killed after this message, they aren't actually dead. A dead character can be revived in the [cash shop] for a fee, but only if they aren't a clockworker.
[*Rule number six: Graphic breeding is NOT acceptable and NEVER will be.*]
If your character is breeding with another, please use timeskip or blackout.
[Rule number seven: Fights belong in your private messages, not in your roleplay thread.]
If you fight on a roleplay thread, it will be locked without warning..
