Shasta’s appearance isn’t out of the ordinary. She is, in fact, what used to be considered a “disqualification”, a dog unable to be used for showing. Her eyes are the wrong shape for a collie; her coat too frothed with black to be worth anything. Overall, she looks more like an overgrown Borzoi than her long-faced relatives.
The long fur that covers Shasta’s back is a drab orange and white, flecked with black. It’s just short enough to be relatively cool in the summer, but long enough to be warm in the winter. Even though Shasta takes pride in her fur, it still mats and gets dirty and her white ruff more often appears gray.
Her eyes are almond shaped and the color of stained hickory. They look sorrowful and pitying. Shasta’s eyes show the struggle she has to live through every day.
Despite the meaningless labels that the humans gave her, Shasta finds herself beautiful. Sure, her ears are crooked, but isn’t that just what makes her her?

Shasta has a proud soul. She's not willing to rely on others for help, and does everything for herself. She's a bit stubborn and always wants her way.
As for love, Shasta believes that one day it'll come and she will embrace it when it does. Not your typical romanticist, Shasta knows that love can show up in unexpected corners of your heart.

|history;;
From a wealthy household, Shasta misses relaxing by the fireside with her people, the tiny braids their daughter used to put in her thick ruff. Shasta is still scarred from the blood that spattered the carpets of the house after the Clockworkers struck, the girl's hand limply grasping her favorite dolly. The beagle that lived with them took off as soon as they even came near the house. He left without a word. Shasta stood by her humans as they were killed. Her dreams make her relive it every day of her life, every painful little stroke of their machinery echoing in her head.
